Research Interests

My research focuses on coercive diplomacy, with my dissertation examining how the regime-type of coercive targets and their allies influences the decision to concede or stand firm. In related work, I also study the onset of coercive threats in a variety of contexts, including the efficacy of nuclear weapons and the application of democratic peace logic with threats of militarized force and economic sanctions.
