Research Interests

My research focuses on the role of American political institutions within the study of civil-military relations. In particular, I am interested in interactions between the U.S. Congress and the military from both policy and sociopolitical perspectives. Additionally, I am interested in American foreign policy with respect to the use of force. This includes exploring the contemporary role of Congress vis-à-vis the Executive in defining security priorities and foreign affairs strategy.
